FREDERICK ROBERT STURRUP – A Bahamian veteran award-winning media personality with extensive background in the print media. FRED STURRUP has also worked in radio and television. His resume includes 54 years in the newspaper business. He rose all the way to Publisher of the oldest paper in The Bahamas, the Nassau Guardian and served in an executive capacity at The Standard and The Bahama Journal. His television work includes hosting the ZNS TV 13 “Viewpoints On Issues” and shows on JCN TV 14. His radio background includes a general talk show on Cool 96 in Grand Bahama, The Bahamas, a weekly “Sports Buzz” show on Star 106.5FM and a sports show on Love 97.5FM in New Providence, The Bahamas. An author, he recently wrote and published the book “A Modern perspective Of The UBP”, detailing some of the positive planks laid for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas during the central administration of the United Bahamian Party. He has also been a contributing writer for other books. Sturrup’s sports background is extensive. He has represented several track and field star athletes and boxers. He once understudied the great Angelo Dundee and actually worked the corner with Angelo.
